There’s A Secret in Kensington…

Take the flight of steps heading downward underneath Eat Crow in Kensington and all of your senses will be delighted.  Just thinking about Winebar Kensington makes my mouth water for their fresh, delicious food and unique wines that seduce you into having another glass or a whole bottle. Everything from the ever-changing art displayed on the walls to the friendly staff, romantic atmosphere, and daily changing features make you want to tell everyone about it, yet something is so sweet about a spot that is a secret local hideaway. I have decided to let you in on this secret so you can share in the happiness of it.

One of my favourite dishes here is the coconut-curried lentil dip, a must-try in my opinion but be warned, once you take your first bite you will want to order another one. Yes, it’s that good! For a lighter, snacky item there are house-fried potato chips and dip that go down great with a glass of red or white wine.

Are you undecided on which wine to order?   One of the servers will be more than happy to provide you with samples of any wine offered by the glass until you find that perfect one for your taste buds. There are lots to choose from.

Do you have a sweet tooth? Don’t leave the winebar without delving into their delicious dessert. Menu items change regularly so you have something new to taste with each season.

You can tell that the chefs love cooking because of the passion that shows from the food art displayed on every plate put in front of you. If you want to watch the creativity take place, be sure to sit at the bar where all the action fires up. Cozy little corner seating areas are perfect if you are on a date and want a more intimate spot in the restaurant but if you feel like venturing outside on a hot summer’s day, check out the stunning patio set up where you can people watch on Kensington Road.

So, when can you go to Winebar Kensington? Every day if you wish as it is open Monday – Thursday from 4 pm – 12 am, Friday from 4 pm-1 am, Saturday from 2 pm-1 am, and Sunday from 2 pm-12 am. Just be sure you call before you go as hours often change.

I’ll let you in on one more secret before I leave…there is a happy hour each day of the week from 4 pm-6 pm with $8 glasses of wine and on Sundays, you get half off bottles of wine. Don’t miss out on an epic day/night out!
