When I was little, my mom would dress me up in the cutest outfits. She would put me in leather jackets and sunflower dresses, two of my favourite clothing pieces when I was little. My grandma would make my outfits as she is great at sewing and putting together fun designs. This was the start of it all…
A fashion girl was born. 🙂
So, I thought I would share some of my fashion knowledge and help you if you are wondering how to make your outfit just right even if you don’t have the time to run home and change.
- From Business Formal to Fun Girls Night Out
You are on lunch from work and your friend calls you to ask if you want to meet her for drinks at 5 pm. There is no time for you to rush home and change but you desperately want to see your friend. You look down at your outfit and wonder, can I really make this work?
YES!
You might be dressed in a pencil skirt and suit jacket, but you can make your outfit less office formal and more girls night friendly. All you have to do is take that jacket off and show off that cute little top underneath. Take your hair out of that sky-high ponytail and give it a quick run-through with your fingers, then add a little fresh lipstick to your lips, and you are good to go. Your heels are already perfect.
Tip: It’s always good to be prepared for anything so try wearing a cute little silk camisole under your suit jacket. Choose heels over flats because nights out always call for a little lift to your look, plus heels make your legs look great!
2. From Park to Dinner Date
So, what happens when your guy/gal asks you out for date night in the park then off to dinner at one of the most romantic restaurants in the city? How do you dress for both?
Think of wearing heels that give you an elegant vibe but are still walkable enough to wander through the park. If you have some kitten heels or wedges, these are great options. You will want to wear something fun and light for the park but that also looks like you are dressed up for dinner. Try putting on a soft, flowy dress to make you feel elegant no matter where you go. Don’t forget to bring a jean jacket with you, wearing it at the park makes your outfit a little more casual then take it off for dinner, showing off your cute bohemian dress.
Avoid wearing a toque. Soft hats look cute in the park and keep you warm but mess up your hair for later in the evening. If you do want to wear a hat, choose something less constricting like a sun hat. Give off a fun chic vibe with some bright-coloured earrings or go the romantic glamourous route with a crystal necklace and ring.
3. From Beach to Shopping
It can be hard to dress for the day when you are on vacation, knowing you will be going to lots of different places without heading back to the hotel in the middle of the day. If there is a beach where you are travelling and the day is planned for a half beach day and a half shopping day, you want to have an outfit just right for both.
Wearing a light slip-on dress will make it easy for you to change in and out of your bathing suit especially if there are no change rooms nearby. You can slip your bathing suit on and off with ease without having to fiddle with zippers or buttons, possibly showing more skin than you anticipated during your quick change. Your dress will also dry off quickly if it gets wet during the change and will be easy to pack in your beach bag. Your little dress will look cute with thongs and be great for walking around in the sand while still maintaining a fresh cute look while shopping. There you have it! You now have some tips on what to wear and how to chicly prepare for whatever comes your way!
